‘I did my best to rise it up’: Chief Joanne Rund reflects on her Baltimore County career

As she steps down from the top spot in Baltimore County, Rund takes on a new, family-focused role with the NFFF

“It’s kind of surreal,” Joanne Rund says of her retirement from the Baltimore County Fire Department where she has served as chief for the past five years. But Rund isn’t done with her service mission.
